And the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015 Is...

Pantone - MarsalaBright colors may soon be over, because neutrals are taking charge in the fashion world.

The Wall Street Journal confirmed today that Pantone has named deep, red-brown 18-1436 Marsala as the next 'It' color for 2015. The Journal notes that the hue "will pair well with the '70s fashions hitting store shelves."

So why brown? "It has an organic and a sophisticated air," Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, told the Journal. Leather brand Hobo says that black has "become so generic," but Marsala has a vintage but neutral feel. And the name Marsala is "feel-good," Eiseman says, which evokes pleasant memories, inspiring consumers to invest in the hue.

Well, we couldn't agree more. So brace yourself for an onslaught of Marsala-hued clothing, bags, beauty products and even interior design pieces that will no doubt hit departmental stores in 2015.
